Whilst I’ve never had a problem sporting lipsticks year-round rather than seasonally, I have to admit that some shades are so autumn appropriate that I had to go and write this post. I’m not one for a super bold lip, you’ll never catch me wearing a vampy shade, but these are all darker shades, more suited to autumn.
To start off, I’m going to talk about actual, classic lipsticks; my three choices here are MAC Syrup, Kiko Smart Lipstick in 915 and KVD Studded Kiss in Lolita. Syrup and the Kiko lipstick are both quite similar, both are berry shades, but Syrup is slightly more sheer. Lolita is a classic burnt red/orange on me. It’s a matte formula, very opaque and perfect for this time of year. All three shades look great on super-pale skin like mine, but I imagine they would work well for everyone.
As for liquid lipstick/crayon formulas, I chose Colourpop Lumiere, KVD Double Dare and Colourpop November. Double dare is probably just the liquid, super-matte, super-long wearing version of Lolita on me. Again, it’s a burnt orange/red shade. Lumiere is one of the Colourpop X Kathleen Lights collabs; it’s a matte Lippie Stix in a berry/mauve shade. It is super opaque and because of this, I tend to blot off some of the lipstick to make it more wearable for everyday wear. Finally, November is another Colourpop X Kathleen Lights collabs and is one of the Ultra-Satin Lips. In the tube it looks to be a pinky-nude shade, but when swatched, and on my lips, it is more of a burnt red/orange similar to Double Dare.
